The existing plan was carefully reworked to create a more fluid sequence of spaces. A layered progression leads from the entrance through the house to a new garden-facing extension, gradually shifting from the formal character of the period rooms to a more relaxed and open living environment

A sculptural concrete chimney anchors the new space and creates a more intimate area within the open plan arrangement. Built-in bay seating sits alongside the garden, offering quieter places to pause while maintaining a visual connection to the landscape.

.

Throughout the house, a restrained palette of natural materials balances old and new. Contemporary interventions are expressed with clarity while the proportions and details of the Georgian fabric are carefully preserved, allowing the building’s history to remain present within a modern home.
